Description
Directed by Kurt Wimmer and shot in Sydney 2020 it was one of very few productions that filmed right through the Cover outbreak. Loosely based on Stephen Kings short story the film describes the events leading up to, and including, the massacre of the adults of a small town in Nebraska by their children, after the adults' irresponsibility ruins the crop and the children's future.
The production was based around Richmond in NSW where we planted 15 Ha of corn which became something of a backlot. It also locked the production into a time frame and probably contributed to the completion of shooting. The exterior of the Barn was partially;y built on site with the interior being done in a location nearby.
The ‘Trench’ because of the close proximity of heavy machinery was an engineered bunker which was then ‘sceniced’ to resemble cut earth. Township exteriors were filmed at Rylestone NSW.
